Pastor Betty keeps tabs on Demi Lovato. Sometimes she would ask about her or talk about her. She likes Demi a lot.
Recently she asked about Demi, and I said, “Oh, I heard she now wants to be addressed as non-binary.”
For those not in on the trend, this means she’s neither male nor female. Just ‘it.’
Pastor Betty shook her head sadly and walked away.
I never thought about that conversation until today.
I was doing something very random when the Lord brought that conversation to mind. I felt so sad for Demi that I asked God to give her a revelation of the Father’s love.
No believer has truly grasped the full implication of God’s love, but we have experienced the power of it. Frankly, it is unlike anything in the world.
No drug in the world can give you that feeling of walking on the clouds like God’s love can. It is such a “high” feeling that is indescribable. You can’t live without it, nor can you understand its full implication. You only embrace it.
I realized that many people are not bad, just lost.
I could be living recklessly and with abandon, but I can’t. God’s love gives me boundaries. When I fall short, there is already provision for my errors.
“Even now,” says the Lord, “Turn and come to Me with all your heart [in genuine repentance], with fasting and weeping and mourning [until every barrier is removed, and the broken fellowship is restored] Joel 2:12 AMP.
My relationship with God is not built on performance. I don’t have to prove that I’m worthy of love or acceptance. I’m already loved, accepted, and chosen.
This reckless love we enjoy as believers is why we can never shut up about God. He is the best deal in the universe and then some.
What’s more? Anyone who embraces this unlimited love will be welcomed and will walk in true freedom for the first time and always.
