I was on my way home, just enjoying the ride, and then the suggestions flooded my mind in waves. It wasn’t anything I planned or thought about previously. However, at that moment, it felt so authentic and genuine.
Truthfully, in conversation with the Lord, I confided about some struggles I had been battling and how I needed help. I knew I was already forgiven the second I asked; however, I needed the empowerment to live above the struggles.
I wasn’t even talking to him, yet he intruded. “You will never be able to stop. You will never be good enough. How can God use someone like you? Just forget it. You are such a people pleaser. God isn’t going to be able to accomplish much with someone like you.”
I knew it was a lie, but I wondered. I tried to silence the lies but, something on the inside took hold of the thoughts. I wanted so much to be used mightily by God, but I had many fears and insecurities. After a while, I stopped fighting it and just told God to speak to me. I could trust His word. I also knew it was the surest way to silence the lies of the enemy.
Amazing Father that He is, God reminded me of something Holly Furtick said a few weeks ago. Elevation church celebrated its fifteenth anniversary and, Holly preached. She went down memory lane, showed a video where Elevation church occupied a tiny living room. Pastor Steven was talking about how one-day Elevation church would transform Charlotte, North Carolina.
Holly said she could not believe they had been seeing only Charlotte then. She said in that season, they had been so unsure about everything. They just walked by faith. They knew what God had said and, they held on to it. Every service they held, they didn’t know for sure if anyone would show up, but they were faithful. It was never a question of God working mighty things through them. It was really about if they would believe and be devoted.
Elevation Church has taken North Carolina and the world. They are still taking more territories. Elevation worship and Maverick city just released a transformational album.
God isn’t concerned about your inabilities and inadequacies. If you give Him your heart, He will help you change your habits.
For it is God who works in us to will and to do according to His good pleasure.Philippians 2:13.
This morning, the Holy Spirit showed me the testimony of Paul:
To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.Ephesians 3:8.
God calls you just as you are. He will work in you to accomplish His good purposes if you submit to Him and give up the trashy words of the enemy.
What the enemy has and throws around are lies. What God offers is the real deal.
We never cry out to God and receive a returned check stamped, “Insufficient Grace.”Sandy Smith.
