Sometimes God’s promise can feel like it’s never going to happen.
A few days ago, while reading a Kenneth Hagin book, I came across something that made me laugh out loud. God said to Hagin,
Walk before me and do all I have called you to do because the time is short.
The Rev. Hagin recorded this promise in 1953 and lived to 2003. If I had been Hagin, I would have thought Jesus was telling me that I had little time left or maybe that He was planning to come back real soon.
I have since seen that God’s timing and ours are on different radars.
When God said to Abraham, you will have a son, I bet nothing in the partriach expected that the promise would take twenty-five years to come into manifestation.
How about David or Joseph?
The first reaction might be discouragement unless you understood that God’s timing, whether it’s twenty-five years in coming or four days late as in the case of Lazarus, is always right on time.
God sees the whole picture and when He gives you a promise, stay with it.
As Paul said, let us follow them who through faith and patience inherited what was promised.
Let us hold fast to the confession of our FAITH because we know that God can be trusted to keep His promise.
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” let us also believe and speak.
Speak your Faith and hold fast to God’s Promise.
When you get a hold of it, don’t let it go!
