I’ll bet you are already getting desperate.
This whole fiasco was not supposed to last this long.
Jobs are gone, provisions are dwindling and money is rare.
I get it. Life as we know it has been totally, completely altered.
How do we go back in time? And if not that, how do we live in what has become a new normal?
I’m not trying to write something that makes you feel good or know I’m empathetic though it might happen.
Last week Monday when the choice was to wait till noon to have cornflakes so that the wait for dinner won’t be totally unbearable, I knew there was a problem.
I had two options.
Pray or Worry.
It was tempting to worry and be angry but I also had to be logical; worry and anger would get me nowhere so I prayed.
A lot of times folks say, ‘I prayed, nothing happened.’
I don’t believe it. Something always happens when you pray.
Anyway, for two whole days my cousins came around and they would get stuff and we’ll all munch happily. I knew that was God’s provision, no doubt. My youth group made special provisions for leaders at the end of the week and someone ordered pizza and drinks for us.
God answered long term too. We got money to get provisions for at least a month.
Then God told me;
“Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out one after another, calling each by its name. And he counts them to see that none are lost or have strayed away.”
‘How can you say the Lord does not see your troubles?
Don’t you know that the Lord is the everlasting God who never grows faint or weary?
He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak.
Even young people will get tired.
But those whose hope is in the Lord will find new strength.’
So yeah, God is really still in business. He isn’t on vacation like you think.
As much as the enemy is working, God is effortlessly in control.
I mean God created the devil so give Him (God) all the credit. He’s always decades ahead of the guy and quite amusingly, the devil is a pun in God’s grand master plan.
You’re not a pun though, you’re a son and a daughter. You have an inheritance if you’ll just ask. Your Dad is always in business.
