It’s so easy to sit in a high chair of goodness and smile radiantly refusing to face the inner turmoil that has crafted your life.
It’s so easy to raise your chin and nod in affirmation at the truth being exposed while hiding the shame that has governed your life.
It’s so easy yet so futile.
Everyone wants applause, everyone wants approval.
The question is whose applause really matters and whose approval really counts and at what cost?
Tons of folks are out there fighting those weights in secret and refusing to own up so they can get help.
We forget about He who sees in secret.
You can receive the recommendation of men but who is He that honors but the Lord?
This isn’t to castigate anyone.
It’s to encourage everyone.
I have my own demons and I’ve fought them quietly too long.
When the pressure built up to the point I was sinking, I decided enough! It just wasn’t worth it.
Y’all know the scripture, ‘He who covers his sin will not prosper but he who confesses and forsakes, the Lord will show mercy.’
Well it’s time to own up!
Get accountability. ‘Confess your sins one to another and pray for one another that you may be healed.’
Don’t stay holed up in the deception.
God doesn’t bless who you pretend to be. He blesses who you really are!
