God is not in a hurry. You Are!
Happy New Month Fam!
It’s been awhile. I stopped writing for over three months. I thought about it but I couldn’t seem to get back into it.
God has and will always be my go-to guy. So I went to Him and He gave me some new instructions.
This year I’m trusting the Lord for insight to serve you better. So come with me as I take you on a journey on the lessons I’ve learned so far.
This is just the first of many. I’ll be sharing tons based on my experiences and those of others close to me.
I was and still am a particularly bright student. So I left high school with the dream of getting into the university, coming out with a first class, grabbing my master’s and doctorate degrees and working and becoming some huge force to reckon with all by the time I turned 21. Then the plan was to get married at 22 and have all my kids before I turned 27.
Real lofty I must say and in actual fact, nothing wrong with all those. However I learnt some important lessons.
I got out of secondary school with an excellent result but I failed maths repeatedly. That meant I couldn’t get into any university cause they all required Maths and English.
This was a really hard pill to swallow cause time continued to tick and I was still on the same spot. It got so bad that I began to dread each new year.
Then I discovered an amazing secret. “God is not in a hurry. I am.”
I was getting frustrated because my life wasn’t going my way. I had forgotten that God always has a better plan. When we submit to Him, he makes all things beautiful in His time.
Then I was in the car with my mentor and he said he started getting worried cause he was getting older and there was still so much to accomplish. Then he told me something profound. ‘He said he realised that there’s still time and he’ll accomplish all God has for him’
This isn’t a call to complacency. Commit your ways to God and He will grant the desires of your heart.
Submit to God and He’ll show you what to do per time but don’t go about life rushing through it cause the only person in a hurry is you. Not God!
And like my friend said, ‘We can’t make anything happen. We do our part and God gives the increase.’
Enjoy The Year Folks!
