GONE WITH THE WIND!

I’ve never seen God, not even once in all my years on earth.

But I’ve seen fragments and I’ve heard and read stories…

I live in just a tiny speck on earth’s continent but I’ve read about people and places that exist in other spheres.

I’ve read about a God that divided the sea for His people to walk through… A God that created the heavens and earth by the words of His mouth…. A God that owns a cattle upon a thousand hills… A God that stood in the midst of fire such that the three Hebrew men weren’t hurt… A God that shut the mouths of lions when Daniel was thrown in the den… A God who destroyed the earth with a flood and provided a rainbow as a covenant of ‘Never Again‘… A God who raises one and desposes another… A God whose word and promises never fail…

Isaiah said, ‘Who has scooped up the ocean in his two hands or measured the sky between his thumb and little finger? Who has come close to being like God? All the nations are like a drop in a bucket… God seats on the circle of the earth and the people are like ants before him. He stretches out the skies like a tent for men to live under… Princes and rulers don’t amount to much, they shrivel when God blows on them. Like flecks of chaff, they’re gone with the wind…

But what’s so amazing about this story is that the same God who created the stars and calls them by name, walked this earth as a mere man for the sake of man that like chaff, is gone with the wind…

This great sacrifice of God walking the earth as a man, dying on a cross like an ordinary criminal, going down to hell to defeat the devil and then handing us all power and authority over satan as a trophy for work He did all by Himself speaks of a love so great and unending. A love that isn’t based on anything we did or can do. A love that is sincere and unconditional. A love that cannot fail. A love that hasn’t changed with the passing of time. A love that is waiting to be embraced irrespective of who you are and what you’ve done.

So in Isaiah God asks, ‘Why would you complain and whine, saying, God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me?

Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening?

God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.

He’s creator of all you can see and imagine.

He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And He knows everything, inside and out.

He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts.

For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.

But those who wait upon the Lord get fresh strength.

They spread their wings and soar like eagles.

They run and don’t get tired.

They walk and don’t lag behind…’

  1. Until we realize that there’s a sacrifice to be payed, we will remain in the same spot. Many of us just read the Bible but fail to see the payed sacrifices. GOD told Abraham, I will give you this land but he had to walk the length and breath of the Israel we know today. Gen 13:14-17. So folks, keep moving no matter what.
Nice one Jules, remain a blessing.

    1. God becoming man and dying a humilating death on a cross is a great sacrifice that speaks of so much love. I hope we embrace it. Thank you Yinka.
