Disheartened is to feel discouraged and dejected and down in the dumps.
Some people are already feeling this way and guess what? We’re just four days into the year. It’s not even something to laugh about.
And I’ll be the first to admit that it gives a lot of concern but at the same time, it’s nothing to stress about. That just makes things worse.
Every single time you need to ask yourself, ‘Why am I feeling this way?’
It’s good therapy because sometimes we’re just afraid. We’re scared of the commitments we’ve made. Or we’re scared the project we’re working on won’t succeed. Or the scholarship won’t come through. Or we won’t get that job or that this year will be no different from last year.
I know. I’ve been there and honestly, I’m still working through it.
The good news is, a lot of times the things we fear don’t even happen. I mean, think through some of those things you’ve feared in the past… How did it turn out?
And yeah, sometimes our fears have a way of becoming our reality….
But that’s only when you succumb to those fears…
Remember what the Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7, ‘God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.’
Cast away your fears and you will soar!
Commit your plans to God and He will grant you the desires of your heart.
Whenever you start feeling despondent, remember it’s time for the ‘ask’ therapy.
And you know you can always, always find strength in God. He’s always available to make your paths straight.
